,the president and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration devoted 50,000 dollars on a brief ceremony held on the central stage at merchandising area ,located by grandstand A of Shanghai International Circuit (SIC), minutes after the qualifying on October 14, 2008. On knowing all spectators who bought the ticketes of 2008 F1 Chinese Grand Prix would devoted 5 yuan to the reconstruction of earthquake-hit area in Sichuan,Bernie touched and decided to contribute 50,000 dollars in his own name and do some help."It is my honor to join in the group of F1 fans to help the reconstruction of quake-hit areas.I feel very sorry about the the victims." said Bernie.Pu xinhui,a student from Mingjue junior high school ,a quake-striken area,in Guangyuan of Sichuan province, took the cheque of 50,000 dollars from Bernie and joined in F1 fans present to take photoes with Bernie together.Pu xinhui is an outstanding student studying now in Shanghai CECI spring class ,as one member of the over 1000 students came from quake-striken areas .
Zhaowen,vice mayor of Shanghai attended the contributing ceremony and expressed sincere gratitude to Bernie on behalf on the committee.Meanwhile ,she welcomed Bernie to be one of Chinese F1 fans and wished F1 event and Chinese Grand Prix developing better.
Zhangren,director and executive deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Charity Foundation attended the ceremony as well.She expressed her thank and promised that Shanghai Charity Foundation would connect counterpart in Sichuan in no time ,thus to make Bernie's contribution take effect in the reconstruction work of quake-hit areas as soon as possible.
